Live Footage from Death to False Hope Fest 2011

Last weekend, a few folks from the National Underground crew traveled to Durham, NC for this year’s Death to False Hope Fest. Aside from having a great time and partying, new friends were made. Making new friends is always great, but fortunately for the site one of these new friends happened to have a camera and was able to capture footage of several bands over the course of the weekend! Read more for the videos (there are several to check out!) and a big thanks goes out to our new buddy Lyz at Candy Apple Red for capturing the footage!

By now, everyone has heard of the hardcore/punk band Shook Ones from Seattle, Washington. With their unique lyrics and addicting melodies, most of us dream of seeing them play live, and lie in anticipation of new songs. So with that in mind, check out this interview with guitarist Kelly as he discusses the current state of the band, the reason for their lack of touring, and what the future holds for the Shook Ones! Archers of Loaf – Secret Reunion Show

Archers of Loaf recently performed a reunion show in their hometown of Chapel Hill. According to an article on The Vine, as well as reports from Twitter and the Merge Records forums, the performance included the original lineup of the band: Eric Bachman, Matt Gentling, Mark Price and Eric Johnson. The show was unannounced and “secret”, yet some footage was captured from the set and we’re excited to repost and pass it along.

More videos from the show.

Frank Turner – Live at The Fest 9

Another Fest was coming to a close, so everyone’s spirits were starting to get a little low. Luckily, we had Frank Turner to bring it all to a close for us at 8 Seconds and pick us all back up. From my vantage point on the stage, I could see everyone in the crowd smiling and singing along, even though it was such a departure from most of the music at the Fest. How often do you see crowd surfing to an acoustic singer-songwriter? Never, in my experience anyway. I was too excited to really hold the camera as steady as I could, just because I wanted to join in singing with everyone. There was a perfect blend of old material, a dash of new, and even a cover with a very special guest. This was a fantastic end to one of the best weekends of my life. Until next year of course.

Filmed by Tighe Arnold, Chip Hill, and Sarah Mugavin. Edited by Mackenzie Singleton. Audio mixed by Trevor Oattes, recorded by Mackenzie Singleton.
