Against Me! – Full Set (The Fest 4)
Against Me! have become one of the largest local bands to come from Gainesville, FL which is quite the statement as local bands include Hot Water Music, Less Than Jake and none other than Tom Petty. Starting off in 1997 as a solo act, Tom Gabel fine tuned the lineup and after years of touring and releasing stellar material on Plan It X Records, Sabot Productions, No Idea Records, and then Fat Wreck Chords came to a high point in their career in the summer/fall of 2005. After releasing their tour DVD “We’re Never Going Home”, playing Warped Tour that year and headlining the Fat Wreck tour, their final show was at home, headlining The FEST 4. A “We’re Never Going Home…Homecoming” if you will. Whether you’re an old Against Me! fan or a new fan you’ll find this is one of the best compilations of their past work, playing it at home to one of the best crowds of their career.
Shook Ones / Paint It Black – Apartment Show (The Fest 6)
Our buddies in Spanish Gamble (at the time Dirty Money and before that the guys that put us up at Fest V and helped us on tour with Less Than Jake…brothers to say the least) planned out a series of house shows for Fest 6 after a surprisingly successful couple at Fest V. The shows were planned out to have only one surprise headliner that never showed, with the rest being smaller acts. Dr. Dan Yemin asked if Paint It Black could play and Ryan, of course, said yeah. Only problem is that their apartment was on the second floor and when you cram 250 kids in, the floor sunk. The ceiling in the apartment downstairs apparently fell. They went on a two month tour before the office opened on Monday and never heard anything about it. Oh, and the best part was that the cops came and just hung out at 3am at a punk show. Only in Gainesville. This was shot by Joe Olmestad who was on tour with Shook Ones…we didn’t have any audio there cause we were breaking down after recording Naked Raygun at the Venue.

None More Black – Fail Safe Warehouse Show (The Fest 7)
Philadelphia, PA’s None More Black started out in 2000 as a new project for Jason Shevchuk after the break up of his band Kid Dynamite. Jason worked through multiple line-up changes and periods of hiatus. The band eventually made their way to Fat Wreck Chords before officially calling it quits in 2007. While Shevchuk worked on another project, Lagrecia, it appeared the band was over for good. But in 2008, the group got back together and played The Fest 7. After their show, they surprised everyone by showing up at the Failsafe Records Warehouse show.
Small Brown Bike – Full Set (The Fest 6)
Marshall, Michigan’s Small Brown Bike called it quits in 2004 after eight years of recording and touring. The members moved on to form LaSalle & Able Baker Fox. In September 2007, after a three year hiatus, Small Brown Bike got back together for a string of shows in Michigan and Chicago, culminating in their final show at The Fest 6 in Gainesville, FL. They gave it their all, breaking strings and ripping vocal chords to an all-star crowd on the stage behind them and a packed room of about a thousand fans singing along.
New Mexican Disaster Squad – Fail Safe Warehouse Reunion Show (The Fest 7)
New Mexican Disaster Squad called it quits in 2008 after 9 years as a band. They decided to call it quits at The Fest 7 after playing every previous year. They played one last show just over an hour afterwards at the Fail Safe Records Warehouse. If you’re looking for members of the now defunct NMDS, see Gatorface, No Friends and Virgins.
A Wilhelm Scream – Full Set (The Fest 7)
After years of fine-tuning their sound on their own terms, New Bedford, MA’s A Wilhelm Scream played The Fest 7, their first Fest. Even though it seems unlikely after seeing the video, they opened the whole thing off at The Venue (the main venue) on Halloween 2008 to an ecstatic crowd.
Latterman – Long Island Houseshow 2001
‘In name of DIY, here’s an old video from 2001 of Long Island’s Latterman. This is the first incarnation of the band with drummer Bryce Hackford and Dan Sposato on guitar. This band has generated a lot of lesser than (<) , greater than (>) sign talk with their hydra like ability to form great bands.
This video is from the Walklor Productions’ Between Resistance & Community: The Long Island Do-it-yourself Punk Scene.
